Ladakh with Kargil & Siachen Base

8 Night | 9 Days

Arrive Srinagar and drive to Sonmarg which is the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. On the way we stop at many beautiful spots. Continue drive to Sonmarg 2690 Mtrs (Meadow of Gold). One can ride on horse to visit to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year and Sonmarg is known as Gateway of Ladakh. Rest of the day is at leisure. O/n stay at Sonamarg.

Morning drive to Kargil. The road passes through the panoramic village to reach Sonmarg (2740 meters) After Sonmarg the road is mostly rough and wet to Zojila pass 3527 meters (Gateway of Ladakh). Continue drive towards Drass (The second coldest Inhibited place in the World) where we stop for tea and passport check. Visit War memorial hall & Museum. Another 2.5 Hours’ drive will take us to Kargil (2710 meters) which has got its importance after opening of Ladakh for tourists in 1974. Reach Kargil. O/n stay at Kargil.

Morning after Breakfast, drive to Hunderman (a Border village). Hunderman is a historic border village near Kargil, Ladakh, known as a "ghost village" due to its past as a conflict zone, now home to the "Museum of Memories" preserving its unique history as it shifted between Indian and Pakistani control, particularly after the 1971 war.

After that drive to Leh, enroute visit Mulbek & Lamayuru, Sangam, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara & Hall of Fame. O/n stay at Leh.

After breakfast drive to Sindhu Darshan and about 7 kms from Leh on the bank of the Historical Indus River. Later proceed to visit Shey Place, The ancient capital of Ladakh and Thiksay Monastery located on top of a hill; the Monastery is an excellent example of Ladakhi architecture. This contains several Stupas, Statues, Thangkas, Wall Paintings and a large pillar depicting Buddha's teachings. Later continue to drive to visit Hemis Monastery, which was built in 1630, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism and It houses some beautiful Wall Paintings, Thangka and several other historic objects & Rancho School. Later visit to Leh Market, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa. O/n stay at Leh.

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley (Known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh) via Khardungla pass. This road is considered to be the highest motorable road of the world. En route, admire the spectacular views of the never ending snow-capped mountain ranges around Khardungla Pass (18,390 feet) After spending some time at Khardungla, proceed to Nubra. Visit to Deskit Monastery and have a wonderful view of Nubra Valley. After Hotel check-in, enjoy camel Safari in the evening. O/n stay at Nubra.

After breakfast, drive to Panamic hot springs.After enjoying hot spring at Panamic, drive to the Siachen Base Camp: the Highest Battlefield in the world. Meet Army people and get to know about the daily life at Siachen.Drive back to Nubra after some quality time at Siachen, via Sumoor. O/n stay at Nubra.

After breakfast drive to Pangong via Shyok. Approx 5 - 6 hours’ drive will take you to this beautiful high altitude and longest lake in the region. Check in at your hotel / camp in Pangong and enjoy the beautiful evening at Pangong Tso. O/n stay at Pangong Lake.

After breakfast, Enjoy the turquoise color panoramic lake and the sun set on the banks of lake with magnificent mountains. Pangong Lake is the largest high altitude salt water lake in Asia 155 km from Leh, shared by two countries India & China. Leave Pangong and retrace the Leh route across Changla Pass 17,350 ft, 3rd highest motorable road in the world. O/n stay at Leh.

Cancellation

  • In case of cancellations, the following conditions would apply :
  • Notice of less than 55 days – 75% will be refunded
  • Notice of less than 30 days – 50% will be refunded
  • Notice of less than 15 days – no refund

  • Additional costs due to flight cancellation, road blocks etc.
  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances, etc (to be borne by the client, who is directly payable on the spot).
  • Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & Long arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.
