The Kailash Overland Tour via Kodari offers a classic journey to the sacred land of Mt. Kailash. Please note that the final travel route may vary depending on the permits issued by the authorities.

Arrive at Kathmandu airport, where our representative will meet and transfer you to the hotel. Evening at leisure.
Overnight: Kathmandu
After breakfast, visit Sleeping Vishnu (Jalnarayan), Bodhnath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple, where you can witness the spiritual Aarti. Overnight: Kathmandu
Drive to Kodari via scenic roads. Overnight: Guesthouse
Cross the Friendship Bridge at Nepal-Tibet border (Kodari–Zhangmu) and reach Nyalam, the first Tibetan village. Overnight: Guesthouse
Drive across Thong La and La Lung passes. En route, see Lake Peikutso and observe yak and sheep grazing. Overnight: Hotel
Visit the sacred Lake Mansarovar (4,558 m), surrounded by Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula- Mandala, and Lake Rakshash. Complete a 2-hour vehicle Parikrama of the lake (110 km). Overnight: Mud House
Explore Mansarovar Lake, perform rituals, and proceed to Darchen village, situated in front of Mt. Kailash. Overnight: Hotel
Distance: 6 km drive + 12 km trek + short drive to Yam Dwar Duration: 7 hrs Altitude: 4,670 m → 4,900 m Highlights: Trek through Yam Dwar for the first majestic views of Mt. Kailash’s north face. Overnight: Basic mudhouse/dormitory
Distance: 22 km trek.
Duration: 10-11 hrs (longest and most challenging) Altitude: 4,900 m → 5,630 m → 4,760 m Highlights: Cross the sacred Dolma La Pass, adorned with prayer flags, and enjoy views of Gauri Kunda Lake. Overnight: Guesthouse
Duration: 3-4 hrs, mostly flat

Drive back to Saga, with free time in the evening. Overnight: Hotel

  • Personal call from mobile phones, there will be charge as per the use.
  • Personal use of pony/porter during Parikarma [Kora]. Must take for all 3 or 4 days of the parikrama and pay upfront to the pony and porter association. This amount cannot be refunded.
  • Single room supplement in Kathmandu.
  • Any extra services such as extra vehicle / hotel nights / sightseeing tours than mentioned in the itinerary.

Payment Terms & Conditions

  • Initial booking amount of INR 15,000.00 PER PERSON [non refundable] to be deposited at the time of booking.
  • 50% of payment should be made 45 Days prior to the departure of trip to Tibet.
  • All payment should be cleared before 15 Days of commencement of Trip.
  • If you deposit in India Bank account, India Government rules 05 % GST Tax and 05 % TCS
  • Tax whoever is going out of India will be added in Package rate. 05 % TCS Tax can claim after returning home when you fill for Income Tax.
  • If FEC Change any Rules and Regulation, the same will be applied with information.

Note

  • If there are any changes from TIBET AUTHORITY (Tibet Part) in rates for 2026, cost will be revised accordingly; additional cost will need to pay by clients.
  • For Foreign & NRI Passport Holders Tibet Visa will be from Kathmandu Chinese Embassy. We need 02 Full working days for Visa Process as such Clients should arrive Kathmandu one Day or Two Day prior to the given dates by 10:00 AM so, that we can process visa on same day. Saturday / Sunday Embassy will be closed.

Policy Of Cancellation Of Trip

  • 1. If any Pilgrim Leaves the group for Non Disease reasons, client must pay 100.00 USD Per Pilgrim / Per Day
  • 2. Once the Permit is applied if there is any cancelation FEC will charge USD 300.00 Per Person as per the Permit Cancellation Fees.
  • 3. Once the group Permit is applied for minimum 21Pax there will be no any additional application accepted.
  • 4. Pilgrims over 70 yrs old subject to the age on passport. Pilgrims aged 70 or above in the year of Pilgrimage are subject to this regulation. The following documents should be submitted for these pilgrims
  • a) Health examination report within 06 months by Indian Public hospital above the country level. Content of the report should include doctor’s judgment and suggestion whether the pilgrims physical condition is suitable for the plateau areas (4000 meters or 13000 feet above sea level)
  • b) Application by the pilgrim to express the intention for pilgrimage in T.A.R the application should be signed and fingerprinted by the pilgrim and two direct relatives. Tibet Authority will judge whether to allow the pilgrim entry T.A.R according to these documents. Pilgrims suffering from high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma and other diseases which are not suitable for entering plateau areas cannot apply the permit.
  • c) Accompany requirement at least two direct relatives required
  • d) The Pilgrim of over 70 yrs should deposit USD 1000.00 as per guarantee to pilgrim. If the pilgrim died the cost USD 1000.00 is charge as per liquidated damage by Tibet.
  • e) Health examination before Parikrama: Local medical center of Tibet Authority will make health examination on pilgrims over 70 years old and give a proposal whether they are suitable for Parikrama. If Docter’s proposal is not suitable for Parikrama this pilgrim need to stop the trip.
  • 5. A charge of 10% will be applied for any cancellation made prior to 25 days of departure date.
  • 6. A charge of 25% will be applied for any cancellation made prior to 20 days of departure date.
  • 7. A charge of 50% will be applied for any cancellation made prior to 10 days of departure date.
  • 8. No refund for any cancellation made thereafter.
  • 9. Verbal cancellation will not be entertained.

  • If you wish to extend your trip to any pilgrimage site such as Muktinath, Janakpur Dham, Damodar Kund, Kagvusundi Lake etc. or you want to go for any short trips such as Pokhara, Chitwan, Dhulikhel, Nagarkot etc. please ask us.

As all the tour programs are conducted strictly under the rules and regulations of Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB), Trelpro will not be accountable for any changes due to change of official rules and laws of Tibet. Moreover, TrelPro will also not be liable for any changes in the itinerary due to unavoidable circumstances such as landslide, road blockage, flood, snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, sickness and accidents. Any extra cost arising due to the above circumstances shall be borne by the clients on the spot

Cancellation

  • In case of cancellations, the following conditions would apply :
  • Notice of less than 55 days – 75% will be refunded
  • Notice of less than 30 days – 50% will be refunded
  • Notice of less than 15 days – no refund
